It's a close up with a gentle giant. The kind of shark you don't mind being near.
As this basking shark swam by luckily I saw his distinctive gills before I saw his fin. At least, that's what I would say had I had a close encounter with a basking shark. Instead I can only ponder this picture taken in my pocket by my stupid phone.
